Adaptation to climate change is seen as an economic task, but it is based on the climatic conditions of territories and their expected changes in the medium term. The purpose of this article is to identify relevant approaches to assessing climate risks based on research data and expert assessments, selecting relevant climate variables, and forecasting the expected (probable) level of climate risks using global climate models. The work uses general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis and scientific generalisation. The analysis of existing regulatory and legal documentation in the field of regional adaptation has been carried out, and the limitations of its requirements have been shown, primarily the emphasis on retrospective analysis of risks and a closed list of indicators characterising the level of their danger. One of the main tasks to be solved in the process of adaptation planning is to find a correspondence between risk and climatic variables that determine its probability of realisation and the level of danger. Approaches to determining the list of regional climatic variables, information about which is necessary for planning adaptation measures, within the framework of the climate or sectoral approach, using standard lists of climatic variables and indices, formed by the World Meteorological Organisation, or on the basis of expert consensus, are considered. It is shown that regional climate forecast is one of the main components in solving the problem of adaptation to climate change, and the methods of forecasting and improving the spatial accuracy of such a forecast (statistical and dynamic downscaling) are considered. The proposed methodological approaches are intended for use in the practice of planning regional adaptation measures, including in the territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and in updating the Strategy of Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The article raises the question of the expediency of studying the possibilities of developing heavy oils and bitumen in the upper part of the section in the northwest of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The Siligir-Markhinsky bitumen field is identified as the most promising object byabundance of manifestations and geographical location. Brief information is given on the lithological and stratigraphic section and the main tectonic elements of the study area. Anomalous thickness of the section with negative temperature (up to 1450 m) is indicated as a distinctive feature of the studied territory. The features of the distribution of epigenetic oil and bitumen occurrences along the section and the influence of hypergenesis processes on the individual and group composition of oils and bitumen are presented in detail. It is concluded that the most studied and attractive object for the extraction of heavy oils, malts and asphalts are the rocks of the Markhinskaya and Morkokinskaya suites in the immediate vicinity of the Udachnaya kimberlite pipe. Physicochemical characteristics of oil sand bitumens are given, indicating their mobility in the temperature conditions of the upper part of the section of the region under consideration. It is proposed to use horizontal drilling in combination with multiplicative petrofracturing for the development of oils and bitumens of the Siligir-Markhinsky field. Direct signs of oil and gas contentestablished during testing of exploration well No. 2-P drilled in non-structural conditions are presented. A possible reason for the failure to obtain oil and gas inflows is the poor quality of the opening of productive layers. It is concluded that the prospects for oil and gas content of the Markhinsky arch along the lower part of the section are preserved, taking into account the placement of the exploratory well in non-structural conditions and limited experience in opening oil-bearing strata. It is noted that the necessity of monitoring the stability of gas flow rate with an increased hydrogen content in the area of the Udachnaya pipe to study the possibilities of hydrogen production.

The article analyzes the research of scholars on the issue of environmental education of future teachers of Russian language and literature in the process of professional training taking into account modern realities. A pilot study was conducted to study the importance of eco-education and current environmental problems in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). The survey covered 52 students of the pedagogical direction of the Faculty of Philology. The results of the survey show that 71% of students have an idea of ecology as a science that studies the interaction of living organisms with each other and their habitat; 59% are sure that climate change is due to the negative impact of humans on nature. In addition, the most pressing local environmental problems were identified, such as fires (57%), pollution of rivers, lakes, reservoirs (37%), poaching (9%), etc. It was revealed that only one fifth of students are ready to engage in environmental education of the younger generation in the future, in their professional activities. In this regard, the authors propose and describe the pedagogical experience of studying literary texts of regional authors who honor and respect national cultural values in relation to the environment, within the framework of the disciplines of the “Module of educational activity”. Thus, the poem by M. D. Efimov “Ode to permafrost” is analyzed from the point of view of identifying the concept of “cold”, which is saturated with a large number of lexemes and phrases, including metaphorical ones. The authors emphasize that the concept of “cold” (in variations of “frost”, “winter”, “permafrost”) is an ecological resource for future generations in the context of preserving cultural and national identity.

This paper attempts to calculate hydrocarbon reserves in productive formations of the Buyaginskaya deep drilling area. Brief information on the lithologic-stratigraphic section and tectonic structure of the Buyaginskaya structure, which is located in the western part of the Suntar uplift of the Siberian Platform, is given. Zonal and sectional features of the prospective Kharystan Vendian horizon are noted based on the history of the region’s development. The results of well testing in the intervals of occurrence of Kharystan and Osinsk productive horizons are presented. On the basis of the data obtained during the trial operation of the Kharystan productive horizon deposit, the reserves were estimated by the pressure drop method. The conclusion was made about low potential of the Kharystan horizon gas deposit within the studied area. Based on eld geophysical data, the calculation parameters for the Osinsk horizon were substantiated and oil and gas reserves were calculated using the volumetric method. It is shown by calculation that the reserves of the Buyaginskaya area can be classi ed as shallow according to the current reserves classification. The results of prospecting and exploration works in the area of the junction of the Vilyuchanskaya saddle and the Predpatomsky regional trough, showing high prospects of the Kharystan horizon in the regional plan, are presented. On the basis of the conducted studies, it is suggested that the Kharystan horizon may be distributed within the avlacogens, which are narrow and extended negative structures of the crystalline basement of northeastern strike along the northwestern and southeastern slopes of the Suntar uplift. Similar zones of oil and gas accumulation may be developed along the slopes of the Arbaisko-Sinskiy rampart. Alternative ways to monetize the available gas resources of the Buyaginskoye prospective field were proposed.

The environmental responsibility of a business implies the obligation of a business to conduct its activities in such a way as to preserve the environment for future generations. “Responsibility” also implies a willingness to pay for damage caused to the natural environment as a result of economic activities, emergencies, accidents, etc. Today, the assessment of damage resulting from accidental oil and petroleum product spills remains an urgent problem, which should cover not only environmental damage, but also economic, social and image (reputational) damage. The authors propose an approach to a comprehensive assessment of environmental and economic damage based on the analysis and comparison of various methods and methodological recommendations. The purpose of this article is to conduct a critical review of existing methods for assessing damage caused to the environment, residents and the economy of regions, and to justify the choice of the most appropriate concepts for assessing environmental and economic damage caused by a spill of petroleum products in the Black Sea. When writing the article, various methods of theoretical and empirical research were used. The theoretical significance of the work lies in the fact that the authors have developed a schematic diagram of the ecological and economic damage caused to the environment, and also proposed approaches to damage assessment, taking into account not only socioeconomic and environmental approaches, but also from the point of view of compensation for reputational losses. The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that these approaches can be used to assess the environmental and economic damage caused by the oil spill in the Black Sea in December 2024. As a result of the study, a comprehensive assessment of the damage caused was proposed, including economic damage caused to economic facilities in the form of losses and profit losses, environmental damage, image damage to the region (reputational damage). The paper suggests indicators for assessing the region’s image losses, which are based on socio-economic development strategies.

A method for working out placer placers in the permafrost zone is proposed. The method is environmentally friendly, using traditional mining technologies. The method includes working off the subterranean placers in the winter time by building an ice dam across the river bed. In the spring, the dam collapses and provides unhindered flow of water and passage of fish to spawning sites. A mathematical model of the process of freezing an ice dam is given. The necessary calculations have been made and the optimal modes of erection of an ice dam have been shown.
